Hello, I’m Eric Chung, currently serving as a Project Control Engineer.

My work focuses on cost management and schedule planning, emphasizing the precise allocation of finances and time. I ensure strict cost oversight, analyzing unit prices to allocate budgets wisely and maintain financial control. Additionally, I manage the project timeline, tracking progress and addressing inevitable deviations while negotiating extensions of time (EOT), working closely with contract management to assess manpower and extended timelines.

Through this professional journey, I’ve sharpened my analytical and problem-solving abilities, ensuring projects are completed on time and with quality. This discipline guarantees a balance between practical decisions and project efficiency, skills I’m eager to transition to the field of Data Science.

I have a strong foundation in data analysis and visualization with Python, Pandas, NumPy, and data visualization libraries like Matplotlib and Seaborn. I regularly leverage Scikit-learn for machine learning projects and have hands-on experience with Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Computer Vision.

In deep learning, I have experience with both PyTorch and TensorFlow, particularly in transfer learning and model design. For example, in a dog breed classification project, I utilized ConvNextV2 as a backbone model, incorporating MultiHeadAttention to enhance feature extraction and improve the model’s ability to distinguish subtle differences among breeds.

To further optimize performance, I implemented data augmentation techniques such as RandAugment and ColorJitter, improving the model’s generalization capability, and employed Focal Loss to address class imbalance issues. The final model was successfully deployed on Hugging Face, allowing users to test it in real-world scenarios. In the future, I aim to enhance this model to improve its accuracy and extend its capabilities to recognize more animal species.

My technical skills, combined with my experience in project management, allow me to approach complex data science challenges with confidence and precision. I apply a systematic, results-driven approach whether managing intricate project tasks or building robust machine learning pipelines. I am committed to continually expanding my knowledge in deep learning, NLP, and computer vision, staying at the forefront of AI and data science developments.
